Mummy and Daddy suspected I had HFMD on Saturday afternoon 22 Nov when we were at Jurong Point cos I had spots on my hands and feet. We went to see a GP at jp but the GP dismissed it as I wasn't having any fever. I was still alert and drinking milk as per normal intake.
Mummy: In the middle of the night, Edward's fever came, slight fever but had spots all over his legs and buttocks and he kept crying. I'm sure he must have felt really uncomfortable. Early Sunday morning, we brought him to a Pediatrician at Clementi who confirmed it was HFMD and gave us fever and cough mixture, Dentinox for his mouth ulcers and cream for his rashes. The nightmare began.
Edward didn't want to take any porridge, milk, not even water. It must have been his mouth ulcers hurting him. After his feed at 230pm on Sunday, he didn't take anything and slept around 630pm. I tried to dream feed him but was useless. He would cry and push the bottle away from his mouth. All the way till 4am on Monday, after 14 hours, he managed to drink 180ml of milk.
The next day, we sent him back to bb sitter. He still took his feed every 4 hours, but lesser amount. It took 5 days for him get back to his normal milk feed , probably for his mouth ulcers to subside and about 8 days to recover from his hand blisters.
